Welcome to Cupid. Cupid is an SMS-first AI matchmaking service operated by Cupid LLC, a Missouri limited liability company ("Cupid LLC," "we," "us," or "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Cupid, including the text-message service reachable at +1 (314) 377-7361, the website at textcupid.co, and any related features (together, the "Service").
By texting Cupid, signing up, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Cupid is a dating service. You must be at least 18 years old to use it. By using the Service you represent that you are 18 or older, that you can form a binding contract, and that you are not barred from using a dating service under applicable law. We may suspend or remove any account we reasonably believe belongs to a person under 18.
Cupid works over text message. You opt in to receive messages from Cupid by texting the Cupid number (+1 (314) 377-7361) and starting a conversation. Consent to receive automated text messages is required to use the Service, because the Service is delivered by text.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Cupid uses carrier-standard application-to-person (A2P) messaging. If you opt out with STOP, you may not be able to use the Service until you opt back in.
Cupid is a conversational matchmaker. In plain terms:
Cupid does not guarantee that you will be matched, that any match will lead to a relationship, or that any other person is who they claim to be. Use good judgment and ordinary caution when meeting anyone new.
Your conversations with Cupid are with an automated AI system, not a human matchmaker. The AI can misunderstand, make mistakes, or produce inaccurate information. Do not rely on Cupid for medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice. Cupid is a matchmaking service and nothing it says is professional advice.
Cupid only works if people use it honestly and treat each other with respect. You agree not to:
We may, at our discretion, warn, limit, suspend, or permanently remove any user who violates these Terms or who we reasonably believe is acting in bad faith or putting others at risk. To report a concern, harassment, or a safety issue, email support@textcupid.co. Safety and abuse reports are reviewed by us.
Cupid introduces you to other people, but Cupid LLC is not a party to and is not responsible for any interaction, communication, date, or relationship between you and anyone you meet through the Service, whether online or in person.
We do not conduct criminal background checks, identity verification, or screening of users, and we do not confirm that any user is who they claim to be. You are solely responsible for your own safety and for your decisions about whether, when, where, and how to communicate with or meet anyone.
You assume all risks associated with meeting and interacting with other people through the Service. Always use good judgment: meet in public, tell someone where you are going, and stop contact with anyone who makes you uncomfortable. If you are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services. Your first introduction is free. Additional introductions and subscriptions are offered at the prices shown on textcupid.co, which may change over time. Charges are for the introductions or subscription described at the time of purchase.
Payments are processed by Stripe. By purchasing, you authorize us and Stripe to charge the payment method you provide.
Subscriptions and automatic renewal. If you buy a subscription, it renews automatically at the end of each billing period, for example monthly, at the then-current price, and your payment method is charged each period until you cancel. We will tell you the price, the billing frequency, and the renewal date before you subscribe.
How to cancel. You can cancel a subscription at any time by emailing support@textcupid.co. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You keep access through the end of the period you already paid for, and you will not be charged again. We do not provide partial-period refunds except where required by law.
Price changes. If we change the price of a subscription, we will give you advance notice and the chance to cancel before the new price takes effect.
Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable. If you believe you were charged in error, contact support@textcupid.co and we will work with you in good faith.
You are responsible for what you share with Cupid and with people you are introduced to. You grant Cupid LLC a limited license to use the information you provide solely to operate the Service, including building your profile and finding matches, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Our handling of your information is described in the Privacy Policy, which is part of these Terms. In short, phone numbers are stored only in hashed form, video introductions are anonymous and time-limited, and your name is shared only once both people consent.
The Service is provided as is and may be unavailable, interrupted, or changed at any time. Cupid currently operates in limited areas and may not have matches available for you. We may add, change, or remove features without notice.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that any match or introduction will meet your expectations.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cupid LLC and its members, officers, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. To the extent liability cannot be excluded, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us, if any, in the twelve months before the claim.
You are solely responsible for your interactions with other people. Cupid LLC does not conduct criminal background checks on users and is not responsible for the conduct of any user, online or offline.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Cupid LLC from any claims, damages, or expenses arising out of your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms or of any law or the rights of another person.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that any dispute relating to these Terms or the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Missouri, unless applicable law provides otherwise.
